Photography Option - Project 2

Because I don't have my sketch book with me, I shall write down some notes in here.

Project two is about a series of photographs - 4 - and it must be of one of the following genres: Urban documentary, landscape, the fashion industry or portraiture.

I immediately eliminate two: landscape and portraiture, they are definetely not my kind of photography... I will sure enjoy doing either the fashion industry or urban documentary.

As soon as we were given the briefing I immediately had a different idea for each of the genres:

1 - The Fashion Industry.

The Fashion Industry is not about fashion, but it's about fashion's issues. I thought of having ""exaggeration” as a theme. Within this theme, I had a few ideas for the pictures: an oversized shoe; many accessories on a person, like neckless, rings...; ridiculously exaggeration of make-up; non-matching-eye-hurting dress-ups, colours, fabrics, etc;

One of the artists I could write about for this project is
Gareth Pugh, definately. Exaggeration fits his work perfectly, but it is also very very inspiring for me. I am still looking at some books and websites looking for inspirational photographers.

2 - Urban Documentary

My idea for this one I think is very basic but it might work, although I am not sure if I am able to use the materials I am thinking of...

Because I am probably going to London this weekend, I was thinking of taking some of those really known shots with long exposure, so the movement can be recorded in the picture. Now, what would make my pictures different from the others, was that I would split colours into RGB mode, and print each one separately on acetate papers. I have to try it first though, because I am not sure it works...

The work would be called "urban layers".
