My grandmother is the best person ever! Just over a year ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, for the second time (30 years after she recovered from the first one). I was crushed. I immediatly flew to Lisbon to see her, spend time with her, because I couldn't bear the idea that she was so ill. She eventually overcome the disease, always with a sparkling smile on her lips! I love her to bits...
Today, my grandmother went for some routine exams in hospital, and on the way out she fell down the stairs. She woke up in another hospital, and didn't remember a thing. She has several internal bleedings, and might need brain surgery in the next few hours. She's under observation, but apparently very lucid and feeling ok.
I cannot put in words how much I love and admire her. I can't describe how I wish I could be there now! And I might be sitting here for hours whole night awake staring at the computer, waiting for my phone to ring with the good news... Even though it's already 2.30 am, it's freezing cold and absolute silence. All I want is for her to be ok the soonest. Because I love her, and I want her to come to Bristol for my graduation...
Get well soon, Avózinha :)
